The Abu Dhabi Ferrari World

Oil affects everything automotive, but when the guys holding 8% of the world's oil supply begin to look for ways to reduce their dependence on oil, should we be concerned? At least they have the cash to make it fun and not painful.

Yes, a 2,500-acre island belonging to Persian Gulf emirate Abu Dhabi, will host Ferrari World, a "high-tech" theme park featuring simulator rides, roller coasters, an interactive museum and a theatre with an Italian-themed play and a race track, as part of the $40 billion dollar transformation into one of the world's premier luxury tourist destinations.

To the ruling family in Abu Dhabi, al-Nahyan, who owns five percent of Ferrari SpA, building Ferrari World was a natural decision. To support the increase in tourists visiting Yas Island, Abu Dhabi also plans to spend an additional $6.8 billion dollars to expand the Abu Dhabi International Airport, where Etihad Airways, the sheikdom's own airline launched in 2003, calls home.

We can only dream of the chance to visit Yas Island someday. Upon its completion in 2009, Ferrari might use it as the location in future for their vehicle launch programs! If so, maybe we'll get invited to come out and play!!

Irish Birth Control

Mrs. Donovan was walking down O'Connell Street in Dublin when she met up with Father Flaherty.

The Father said, 'Top o' the mornin' to ye! Aren't ye Mrs. Donovan and didn't I marry ye and yer hoosband 2 years ago?'

She replied, 'Aye, that ye did, Father.'

The Father asked, 'And be there any wee little ones yet?'

She replied, 'No, not yet, Father.'

The Father said, 'Well now, I'm going to Rome next week and I'll light a candle for ye and yer hoosband.'

She replied, 'Oh, thank ye, Father.'

They then parted ways.

Some years later they met again. The Father asked, 'Well now, Mrs. Donovan, how are ye these days?'

She replied, 'Oh,very well, Father!'

The Father asked, 'And tell me, have ye any wee ones yet?'

She replied, 'Oh yes, Father! Three sets of twins and 4 singles, 10 in all!'

The Father said, 'That's wonderful! How is yer loving hoosband doing?'

She replied,'E's gone to Rome to blow out yer fookin' candle.'
